Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, a magnet school in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a math/cs department chair. All math courses are honors level, spanning from geometry to differential equations, complex variables, and numerical analysis. All students take an intro to java course that lead to advanced courses in supercomputing, artificial intelligence, computer architecture, and more. The TJHSST math team participates in competitions around the country, including forming their own ARML team and having members on the US Math Olympiad team. Department chair responsibilities include teaching three math courses, leading the vision of the curriculum, and participating on the school's leadership team. Contract length is 10 months with additional summer teaching and curriculum hours available.
